PLAYER EVALUATIONS FOR ROOKIES LEVEL AND OLDER ARE MARCH 22ND AT ULTIMATE SPORTS, 847 HANOVER RD, MERIDEN FROM 11AM - 2:30PM.  An email will be sent to you with your designated time slot.  Tball players do not attend evaluations.

Teams will be formed immediately following player evaluations.  Practices will start end of March/early April.  We welcome ages 3.5-16.  All T-ball games are played at Habershon Field.  The majority of Rookies games are played at Habershon Field.  Minors and Majors will travel to play local surrounding towns.  Rookies Division ages and older have an opportunity to play on Summer All Star Teams, and play on State and Local Tournament Teams. Players that were born on or after May 1, 2012 are eligible to play for our Majors Division.  We differ from Little League in that our Majors Division plays on a 50/70 infield vs. 46/60.  This allows for a more gradual transition to a 60/90 infield, as used in high school baseball.

Ages 3.5-6 Tball Division

Ages 6-8 Rookies Division (46/60 infield)

Ages 8-10 Minors Division (46/60 infield)

Ages 10-12 Majors Division (50/70 infield; same as middle school)

Ages 13-16 Babe Ruth Division (60/90 infield; same as high school)

We have a new league president and board members that grew the league to over 200 players.  We had a fun and competitive Spring, Summer and Fall Season.  Our Tball teams had fun playing against each other and learned how to field and bat off the tee!   Our Rookies teams played against each other but also got to experience some challenging competition playing against other towns.  The All Star Rookies Team even won 1st Place in the Pomperaug Memorial Day Tournament!  They then went on to play in the Summer Friendship Tournament, where they made it all the way to the semi-finals after facing 20 very challenging recreation and travel league teams.  Our All-Star Majors Team went on to represent South Meriden Baseball in the Summer State Cal Ripken Tournament and our Babe Ruth Team had a lot of fun playing competitively for most of the summer.  The Minors Division also had an amazing Fall Season making it to the semi-finals as the #1 seed.  We couldn’t be more proud of our teams, coaches, and parents!

We also had some fun.  We marched in the Hubbard Park Daffodil Festival.  There was also a summer trip to Yankee Stadium where we participated in a parade on the Field and watched the Yankees win!  For some of our players, this was their 1st Major League Baseball game and ride on the train to the Bronx.  We ended the baseball season with a Fall Movie Night at Habershon Field where we watched The Sandlot and shared some popcorn and fried dough from our concession stand and we are ending 2024 with the Annual Christmas in the Village.  A lot of great memories were had in 2024 and we are looking forward to an even better 2025 with newly renovated Fields and facilities.
